The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Little Creek VA. Entrance to the Chesapeake Bay including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. York River. Rappahannock River. * Until 300 PM EDT. * At 153 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Longs Creek Inlet to near Coleman Bridge, moving southeast at 20 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and large hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include. New Point Comfort, Nassawadox Reef, Wolf Trap, Thimble Shoals, Tue Marshes Light, Stingray Point, Occohannock Reef, The Hump, The Cell, Cabbage Patch, Cape Charles Harbor, Windmill Point, Rappahannock Range Light, Rappahannock Light, Plantation Light, Mobjack Bay, Gwynns Island, Poquoson, Gwynns Island Reef and Coleman Bridge. Air quality is expected to reach code orange. which is unhealthy for sensitive groups. and means individuals with respiratory and/or heart ailments. older adults. and children should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion. An Air Quality Alert means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Northampton, southeastern Greensville and southwestern Southampton Counties through 245 PM EDT. At 159 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Claresville, or near Dahlia, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD. Winds in excess of 30 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Northampton, southeastern Greensville and southwestern Southampton Counties, including the following locations. Severn, Margarettsville, Branchville, Bryants Corner, Little Texas, Galatia and Falsons Old Tavern. MAX HAIL SIZE. 0.75 IN MAX WIND GUST. 30 MPH

At 139 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Back Bay, or 8 miles southeast of Virginia Beach, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD. Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of the southeastern City of Virginia Beach, including the following locations. Munden and Sandbridge Beach. MAX HAIL SIZE. 0.50 IN MAX WIND GUST. 30 MPH
