SMWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out to 20 nm. Coastal waters from Parramore Island to Cape Charles Light VA out 20 nm. Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia - North Carolina Border from 20 to 40 nm. * Until 330 PM EDT. * At 215 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Virginia Beach Oceanfront, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD. Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * The severe thunderstorm will be near. 10 Nm East Of Virginia Beach Oceanfront around 220 PM EDT. Chesapeake Light Tower around 230 PM EDT.
