* WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of central, northern, and northwest Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Albemarle, Greene, King George, Orange and Spotsylvania. In northern Virginia, Culpeper, Southern Fauquier and Stafford. In northwest Virginia, Madison and Rappahannock. * WHEN. From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the area this afternoon to evening. Thunderstorms will be capable of producing very heavy rainfall, with amounts of 1 to 2 inches in 30 minutes possible. Widespread totals around 1 inch are forecast, with up to 2 to 4 inches of rain under the strongest storms.
