James River from James River Bridge to Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. * Until 1015 PM EDT. * At 934 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near The Hump to near James River Bridge, moving east at 20 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Thimble Shoals, Hampton Flats, The Hump, Willoughby Bay, Sewells Point, Cabbage Patch, 1st Island Bay Bridge, Latimer Shoal, Plantation Light, Poquoson, Dominion Pier, Kiptopeke Concrete Ships, Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, Lynnhaven, York Spit Reef, Buoy 36a, Hampton River Inlet, James River Bridge, and Bluefish Rock.

FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia. The Southern City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia. The Southeastern City of Poquoson in southeastern Virginia. * Until 1145 PM EDT. * At 942 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in the past 30 minutes. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 30 minutes. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include.
