The areas affected include. Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD. At 1244 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 25 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 nm southeast of Fort Washington to 10 nm west of Aquia Creek, moving southeast at 25 knots. A gust front with a wind shift from southeast to northwest will arrive before the rain. Locations impacted include. Potomac Creek, Widewater, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Smallwood State Park, Quantico, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Popes Creek, Brent Point, Westmoreland State Park, Fairview Beach, Colonial Beach, and Dahlgren.

Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. High tide at Goose Bay is at 7:46 PM this evening and 7:47 AM Sunday morning. High tide at Dahlgren is at 6:31 PM this evening and 6:47 AM Sunday morning.

* WHAT. Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE. Shoreline in the District of Columbia, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. * WHEN. Until 3 PM EDT Sunday, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS. Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Water is expected to approach the curb near the intersection of King Street and Strand Street in Alexandria. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. High tide at Alexandria is at 12:12 AM overnight and 12:13 PM Sunday afternoon. High tide at Washington Channel is at 11:54 PM this evening and 11:55 AM Sunday morning.

Water also nearly covers the promenade at the dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. At 3.0 feet, water begins encroaching upon yards in the Bowleys Quarters area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. High tide at Fort McHenry Baltimore is at 10:43 AM Sunday morning.

Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. High tide at Chesapeake Beach is at 7:56 AM Sunday morning. High tide at Solomons Island is at 6:11 AM Sunday morning.
