Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Yellow River at Gees Mill Road. * WHEN. Until late this afternoon. * IMPACTS. At 13.0 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand into the woodlands. fields and pasture along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on Gees Mill Road in Rockdale County. Most of Sockwell Road by the river in Newton County will be flooded with up to 4 feet of water. Minor flooding also occurs in Newton County in the Riverside Estates Travel and Trailer Park. Any trailers near the river may need to be moved to higher ground. A playground by the river will begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 5:02 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 5:02 AM EDT Sunday was 16.3 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this morning and continue falling to 2.3 feet Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History. Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Sweetwater Creek near Austell. * WHEN. Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS. At 13.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Significant flooding occurs in the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage near the Interstate 20 bridge. Portions of a paintball playing field just downstream of the bridge and athletic fields in the Woodrow Wilson Park on Mount Vernon Road are flooded with 2 to 3 feet of water. Water begins to flood a few mobile homes on Brook Forest Road and homes on Wren Circle in Douglas County. Portions of Sunlight Drive in Cobb County will be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 4:45 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Recent Activity.
