At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near RDU International, or 8 miles north of Raleigh, moving northeast at 5 mph. This storm was part of a cluster of storms stretching over western Wake county into southern Franklin county. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include. Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, Bunn, RDU International, Apex, and Holly Springs.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 441 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include.
