At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near RDU International, or 8 miles north of Raleigh, moving northeast at 5 mph. This storm was part of a cluster of storms stretching over western Wake county into southern Franklin county. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include. Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, Bunn, RDU International, Apex, and Holly Springs.
