The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in North Carolina. Neuse River Near Goldsboro affecting Wayne County. . The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina. Neuse River At Smithfield affecting Johnston County. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Neuse River near Goldsboro. * WHEN. Until early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Water overflows the banks at the Arrington Bridge Rd and upstream of the US-117 bridge. Ferry Bridge Rd begins to flood. At 20.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Arrington Bridge Road and access roads around Seymour Johnson Air Force Base flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 17.9 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 19.6 feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

Water encroaches onto other properties along the south side of the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 15.3 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM EDT Saturday was 15.8 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to 16.9 feet Thursday morning.
