Heights), Eastern Essex, Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Eastern King William, Eastern King and Queen, Eastern Louisa, Gloucester, Goochland, Greensville, James City, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Mathews, Mecklenburg, Middlesex, New Kent, Northumberland, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George, Richmond, Southampton, Surry, Sussex, Western Chesterfield, Western Essex, Western Hanover, Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond), Western King William, Western King and Queen, Westmoreland and York. * WHEN. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Deep moisture combined with a slow moving frontal boundary will lead to the potential for heavy rainfall through this evening. Portions of northeast North Carolina, including the following areas, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Eastern Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, Perquimans and Western Currituck and Virginia, including the following areas, Chesapeake, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Northampton, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. * WHEN. Through this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Deep moisture across the region combined with a stalled frontal boundary will lead to the potential for heavy rainfall through this evening across Hampton Roads and parts of northeast North Carolina. FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Southeastern Charles City County in east central Virginia. James City County in southeastern Virginia. Northeastern Southampton County in southeastern Virginia. Central Surry County in southeastern Virginia. East Central Sussex County in southeastern Virginia. Western York County in southeastern Virginia. The City of Williamsburg in southeastern Virginia. * Until 330 PM EDT. * At 1227 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. In south central Virginia, Prince George. In southeast Virginia, City of Williamsburg, Gloucester, James City, Southampton, Surry, Sussex and York. * WHEN. Until 315 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1202 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
