FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for. Northern Camden County in northeastern North Carolina. Northwestern Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina. Southeastern Pasquotank County in northeastern North Carolina. Central Perquimans County in northeastern North Carolina. * Until midnight EDT tonight. * At 1012 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Currituck, Elizabeth City, Camden, Hertford, Winfall, Elizabeth City State University, Weeksville, Whitehall Shores, Shiloh, Indiantown, Nixonton, Chapanoke, Burgess, Corolla, Pasquotank, Taylors Beach, Belcross, Bartlett, Spences Corner and Riddle.
