* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following independent cities, City of Chesapeake, City of Norfolk, City of Portsmouth, City of Suffolk and City of Virginia Beach. * WHEN. Until 1100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 857 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Virginia Beach, Norfolk State University, Downtown Norfolk, Downtown Portsmouth, Virginia Wesleyan University, Regent University, Old Dominion University, Kempsville, Ocean View, Churchland, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Norview, Ghent, Norfolk International, Cradock, Norfolk NAS and Western Branch. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
