* WHAT. Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE. In North Carolina, the sound side of Western and Eastern Currituck County. In Virginia, the Back Bay area of Virginia Beach. * WHEN. Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS. Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Northwestern Camden County in northeastern North Carolina. Northwestern Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina. Central Pasquotank County in northeastern North Carolina. * Until 815 PM EDT. * At 508 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Currituck, Elizabeth City, Camden, Elizabeth City State University, Indiantown, Whitehall Shores, Pasquotank, Belcross, Gregory, Bartlett, Taylors Beach, Shawboro, Spences Corner, Lambs Corner, Maple, Barco, Coinjock, Waterlily, Rabbit Corner and Woodville.
