At 502 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Lewiston Woodville, or 12 miles west of Windsor, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Bertie and south central Hertford Counties, including the following locations. James River from Jamestown to the James River Bridge. * Until 600 PM EDT. * At 453 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 nm southwest of James River Bridge to near Sewells Point to near Little Creek, moving northeast at 25 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. At 442 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated scattered strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located near Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel, moving northeast at 20 knots. Locations impacted include. Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, 1st Island Bay Bridge, Latimer Shoal, Plantation Light, Anglo African Wreck, Cape Henry, Thimble Shoals, Kiptopeke Concrete Ships, Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, Lynnhaven, Hampton River Inlet, Hampton Flats, Bluefish Rock, Fishermans Island, Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel, Willoughby Bay, Sewells Point, Cape Henry Wreck, Cabbage Patch, and Little Creek.
