IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include. Elizabeth City, Hertford, Winfall, Elizabeth City State University, Chapanoke, Burgess, Nixonton, Belvidere, Pasquotank, Rabbit Corner, Symonds Creek, Woodville, Parkville, Yeopim Station, Okisko, Forestburg, Jacocks, Beach Springs, and Smithtown.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas. Chesapeake Bay from Little Creek VA to Cape Henry VA including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek VA. Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out to 20 nm. Currituck Sound. James River from James River Bridge to Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. At 1220 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 4th Island Bay Bridge to near Sewells Point to 12 nm southwest of Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel, moving east at 20 knots.

At 1215 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Old Dominion University, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near. Downtown Norfolk, Old Dominion University, Downtown Portsmouth, Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Ghent, Norfolk NAS, and Norview around 1220 PM EDT. Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk International around 1225 PM EDT. Virginia Wesleyan University around 1230 PM EDT. Regent University and Kempsville around 1235 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include South Norfolk, Rudee Heights, Portlock, Mount Pleasant, Princess Anne Plaza, Huntersville, Oceana NAS, Macons Corner, Pungo, and Greenbrier.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This strong thunderstorm will be near. Murfreesboro and Chowan University around 1215 PM EDT. Winton around 1235 PM EDT.
