The areas affected include. Coastal waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC out 20 nm. Waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC from 20 to 40 nm. At 654 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 7 nm east of Currituck Beach, moving east at 25 knots.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas. Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out to 20 nm. Currituck Sound. At 646 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located near Sandbridge, moving east at 30 knots.

At 644 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Back Bay, or over Virginia Beach, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near. Virginia Beach around 650 AM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Sigma, Pungo, and Sandbridge Beach.
