At 431 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Elberon to near Zuni to near Carrsville. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. Strong thunderstorms will be near. Windsor, Suffolk, Isle Of Wight, Zuni, and Elberon around 435 PM EDT. Smithfield around 440 PM EDT. Rescue and Kings Fork around 455 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Rushmere, Booth Fork, Pons, Carrollton, Chippokes State Park, Longview, Benns Church, Bethel Church, Ellis Fork, and Chuckatuck.

FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. York County in southeastern Virginia. The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia. The City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia. The City of Poquoson in southeastern Virginia. * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 345 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Newport News, Hampton, Langley AFB, Christopher Newport University, Patrick Henry Field, Hampton University, Northampton, Beaconsdale, Tabb, Denbigh, Buckroe Beach, Fort Monroe, Grand View, Fort Eustis, Langley View, Hilton Village, Messick, Raleigh Terrace, Dare and Oyster Point.
