SMWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Windmill Point VA. Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to New Point Comfort VA. * Until 315 AM EDT. * At 225 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Nandua Pungoteague Reef to near Occohannock Reef to near Nassawadox Reef, moving east at 40 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include. Onancock Inlet, Nassawadox Reef, Occohannock Reef, Rappahannock Range Light, Rappahannock Light, Nandua Pungoteague Reef, and Anglers Reef.

At 223 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles south of Tangier to 9 miles northwest of Exmore to 7 miles west of Nassawadox. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes. Strong thunderstorms will be near. Exmore around 230 AM EDT. Nassawadox and Willis Wharf around 235 AM EDT. Onancock and Onley around 240 AM EDT. Parksley around 250 AM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Hallwood, Harborton, Melfa, Mappsville, Franktown, Wallops Island, Temperanceville, Nelsonia, Modest Town, and Clam.
