Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Widespread showers and isolated embedded thunderstorms will affect much of eastern Kentucky today as Tropical System Helene approaches and passes through the area. Periods of heavy to, at times, torrential rainfall are expected from this, which may lead to incidents of flash flooding.
