Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh and Long and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper and Tidal Berkeley. * WHEN. Until 9 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Widespread showers and thunderstorms with torrential rainfall will impact much of Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia this afternoon and evening as a cold front drops south into the region. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with localized amounts in excess of 6 inches. At 419 PM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm 9 miles south of Ellabell, or 10 miles northeast of Fort Stewart, moving southwest at 15 mph. HAZARD. strong winds 45 to 55 mph and excessive cloud to ground lightning. SOURCE. Radar Indicated. IMPACT. Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. All outdoor activities should cease. Move indoors immediately. Some locations in the path of this storm include. Hinesville, Richmond Hill, Pembroke, Fort Stewart, McIntosh, Lanier, Walthourville, and Flemington.
