At 642 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Tornado, or near Nitro, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include. Charleston, Nitro, Jefferson, South Charleston, St. Albans, Dunbar, Cross Lanes, Institute, Tornado, Teays Valley, and Alum Creek. This includes the following highways. Interstate 79 between mile markers 1 and 3. Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 97 and 109. Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 45 and 57. Route 119 between mile markers 72 and 80.
