In east central Virginia, Charles City, Eastern King William, Eastern King and Queen and New Kent. In eastern Virginia, Lancaster, Mathews and Middlesex. In south central Virginia, Brunswick, Dinwiddie, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway and Prince George. In southeast Virginia, Chesapeake, Gloucester, Greensville, Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, James City, Newport News, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk, Surry, Sussex, Virginia Beach and York. * WHEN. Until 10 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall this afternoon and evening. Rainfall rates may approach 2 to 3 inches per hour, which could lead to areas of flash flooding. The greatest threat is expected in urban or flood-prone locations. Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out to 20 nm. Coastal waters from Parramore Island to Cape Charles Light VA out 20 nm. Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia - North Carolina Border from 20 to 40 nm. Waters from Parramore Island VA to Cape Charles Light VA from 20 to 40 nm. * Until 715 PM EDT. * At 612 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Fishermans Island to Cape Henry to 14 nm west of Sandbridge, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include.
