* WHAT. Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, City of Radford, Giles and Pulaski. * WHEN. Until 1100 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 450 PM EDT, Water is still receding from rainfall received over the last 3 days. - This includes the following streams and drainages. Connellys Run, Broad Hollow Creek, Carper Branch, Craig Creek, Corner Branch, Bentley Branch, Altoona Branch, Crooked Creek, Dixon Branch, Big Reed Island Creek, Cecil Branch, Big Macks Creek, Adair Run, Big Spring Branch and Back Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Major flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. New River at Glen Lyn. * WHEN. Until tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS. At 18.0 feet, Significant flooding of trailer campgrounds along the New River. Flooding on Caboose Lane in Pembroke and Jason's Circle in Narrows. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 10:30 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 18.4 feet and falling. - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM EDT Saturday was 22.5 feet. - Forecast. Until 100 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 109 PM EDT, Excessive rainfall during the past 2-3 days as the remnants of Hurricane Helene moved through the area continued. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell during this time frame resulting in excesive runoff of water into area creeks and streams. - This includes the following streams and drainages. Craig Creek, Dry Branch, Mill Creek and Barbours Creek.
