* WHAT. Flooding caused by upstream dam release is occurring along the French Broad River below Douglas Dam. * WHERE. A portion of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Knox and Sevier. * WHEN. Until 1030 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1035 PM EDT, An upstream floodgate release is expected to cause flooding in Deerfield Trailer Park near Boyds Creek. Heed evacuation orders from local officials. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. * WHAT. Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues. * WHERE. Low-lying areas along the French Broad River downstream of Douglas Dam, including the following counties, Knox and Sevier. * WHEN. Until 1030 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations along the French Broad River is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1112 AM EDT, TVA has increased water release from Douglas Dam, causing the French Broad River below the dam to continue rising. Flooding may occur as the dam floodgate release will continue. - Evacuations will continue as deemed necessary by local emergency personnel in low-lying communities and neighborhoods along the French Broad River. If you live in a low-lying area near the river and feel your residence may be threatened, please self-evacuate. Continue to follow guidance from local law enforcement, fire/rescue agencies, and emergency management staff. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. French Broad River near Newport TN. * WHEN. Until tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS. At 15.0 feet, Buildings at the campground on Hwy 25/70E take water. A few low-lying riverfront cabins between Newport and Del Rio take water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 7:00 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 15.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:00 AM EDT Sunday was 20.3 feet. - Forecast.
