At 626 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles north of Aiken State Park, or 15 miles northeast of Aiken, moving south at 15 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include. Aiken State Park, Wagener, Perry, Perry Airport, and New Holland. This includes Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 25 and 33.

Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following areas, Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty, Coastal McIntosh, Effingham, Inland Bryan, Inland Chatham, Inland Liberty, Inland McIntosh and Long and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Coastal Jasper, Dorchester, Hampton, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton, Inland Jasper and Tidal Berkeley. * WHEN. From Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Widespread showers and thunderstorms with torrential rainfall will impact much of Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia Monday afternoon and evening as a cold front drops south into the region. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with localized amounts in excess of 6 inches. FFWCAE The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Central Richland County in central South Carolina. * Until 800 PM EDT. * At 632 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Columbia, West Columbia, Forest Acres, Dentsville, Arcadia Lakes, Woodfield, Sesquicentennial State Park, Five Points, Villages at Sandhill, SC State Fair Grounds and Olympia. This includes the following highways. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 72 and 82. Interstate 77 between mile markers 13 and 19.

* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Kershaw, Lexington and Richland. * WHEN. Until 815 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 614 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen according to local rain gauges. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain could result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, Springdale, Dentsville, St. Andrews, Oak Grove, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Red Bank, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Elgin, Arcadia Lakes, Columbia International University, Five Points, Riverbanks Zoo and West Columbia Riverwalk. - This includes the following highways. Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 103 and 114. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 49 and 91.
