Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Ongoing slow moving thunderstorms have already led to flooding across parts of the watch area. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Duplin, Jones, Lenoir and Onslow. * WHEN. Until 1015 AM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 709 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. FFWMHX The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. East Central Duplin County in eastern North Carolina. West Central Jones County in eastern North Carolina. Southwestern Lenoir County in eastern North Carolina. Northwestern Onslow County in eastern North Carolina. * Until 1145 AM EDT. * At 852 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include.
