The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina. Yadkin River At Yadkin College affecting Davidson and Davie Counties. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Yadkin River at Yadkin College. * WHEN. Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS. At 15.0 feet, The river is at bankfull. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. There is flooding of mainly farmlands on both banks. At 21.0 feet, Lower level campsites at the Thousand Trails Preserve off US-64 begin to flood. At 23.0 feet, The upper campsites at the Thousand Trails Preserve off US-64 begin to flood. At 25.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Flooding may close Sowers Road near Linwood and Hollywood Drive at Grub Ferry Rd. A campground on Hannah Ferry Road is flooded. Flooding threatens the pumping station at Davidson, Incorporated. At 26.0 feet, Several homes along the river begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 5:00 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 23.0 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 5:00 AM EDT Sunday was 23.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.1 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History. It will then fall below flood stage this evening to 4.8 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will rise to 6.3 feet early Wednesday morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History. * WHAT. Flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE. A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following counties, Alexander, Catawba and Iredell. * WHEN. Until 200 PM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS. Flooding due to runoff and release of water over Oxford Dam and Lookout Shoals Dam. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 139 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding along the shores and downstream of Lake Hickory and Lookout Shoals Lake. Flooding is already occurring. Lake levels may fluctuate as water is released. - Please stay away from the area and allow first responders to perform their recovery efforts. Please obey all barricades which remain in place for your safety as numerous roadways have been compromised by flood waters and may not be safe. Emergency management is urging people who can stay home to do so. Discontinue inundating 911 centers with non-emergency calls (e.g., trees down). Please continue to heed all guidance from law enforcement and emergency management as they continue to work tirelessly to keep people safe. Do not attempt to drive through any flooded roadways. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. FFWGSP The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for. A Dam Floodgate Release in. Northeastern Gaston County in the piedmont of North Carolina. Northwestern Mecklenburg County in the piedmont of North Carolina. * Until 945 PM EDT Sunday. * At 936 AM EDT, dam operators reported the floodgates on the Cowans Ford Dam / Lake Norman were opened causing flash flooding downstream on the Catawba River. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Mountain Island Lake and Communities Downstream of Mountain Island Lake Dam. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD. Life threatening flash flooding from a dam floodgate release. SOURCE. Dam operator. IMPACT. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! IMMEDIATE EVACUATION for areas along the river immediately downstream of the dam. * The nearest downstream town is Mountain Island Lake and Riverside Dr Community. This includes the following streams and drainages. Catawba River, McDowell Creek, Paw Creek, trib to Catawba river, Dutchmans Creek, Fites creek, Gar Creek, Long Creek, Trib to Lake Norman and Johnson Creek. Flooding is occurring along the Catawba River.
