At 656 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Pittsville, or 7 miles west of Gretna, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include. Chatham. Gretna. Java. Dry Fork. Climax. Pittsville. and Chalk Level.

* WHAT. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Granville, Person and Vance. * WHEN. Until 845 PM EDT. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 542 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
