The Flash Flood Watch will expire for a portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas, Alamance, Durham, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren. The flash flooding threat has ended. Therefore, the Flash Flood Watch will expire at 8 AM EDT this morning. However, there may be lingering standing water on roads through mid morning, so motorists should continued to use extra caution and slow down on wet roads to avoid hydroplaning.

FFWRAH The National Weather Service in Raleigh has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for. Central Person County in central North Carolina. * Until 900 AM EDT. * At 744 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated lingering flooded roads in a few spots around Person county, due to the heavy rain earlier this morning. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. No additional heavy rainfall is expected over the next few hours. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Flooding persists near the intersection of Madison Boulevard and Long Avenue in Person county. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Roxboro, Bethel Hill, Mayo Reservoir and Bushy Fork.
