* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. In Minnesota, in north central Minnesota, Koochiching and North Itasca Counties. In northeast Minnesota, Cook, Lake and central and northern St. Louis Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation and the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake, Lake Vermilion and, Deer Creek areas. Recreation spots such as Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also included. * WHEN. From 7 PM CDT this evening through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff on top of saturated soils and still high rivers and lakes may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Elevated flows may lead to flooding on area rivers that are popular for waterfall viewing. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Heavy rainfall is once again possible across areas of northern Minnesota that have not yet fully recovered from several rounds of heavy rain and flooding in late June. Streamflows are above normal and soils are saturated. Rainfall of up to one and half inches with localized areas of 2 inches or more possible. Until 815 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 215 AM CDT Tuesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. International Falls, Birchdale, Littlefork, Nett Lake, Orr, Big Falls, Ash Lake, Kabetogama, Crane Lake, Rainy Lake West, Kabetogama Lake, Pelland, Pelican Lake, Voyageurs National Park, Cusson, Rainy Lake East, Loman, Buyck, Manitou and Franz Jevne State Park. - Flood safety information can be found at www.weather.gov/safety/flood.
