A break in the heavy rain is expected this evening before the main period of widespread rain moves in after midnight. 2-4 inches of additional rain are likely across most of the area, with a smaller swath of 3-6 inches of additional rain possible. As the remnants of Beryl pull away, there is a chance for gusty winds. 30 to 40 mph winds will be most possible, but a brief period of 45 mph gust cannot be ruled out. The lingering cloud cover is expected to cut into how strong gusts could become, restricting the occurrence of 45 mph gusts to more isolated in nature. With how moist the soil is, there is a chance that some trees could be knocked over in a few spots.

From 4 AM EDT Wednesday through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS. Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. The north side of north piers will be most impacted due to northerly winds. This includes Muskegon State Park, Holland State Park, and North Beach at South Haven.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 930 PM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated several locations within the advisory area received 2 to 4 inches of rain Tuesday afternoon. Minor flooding is occurring in a few locations in the advisory area, and flooding in additional locations is likely to develop Wednesday morning. - Some locations that have already flooded due to Tuesday's rain include Lansing, East Lansing, Schoolcraft, and Vicksburg. These locations will be especially vulnerable to additional rain early Wednesday.
