SMWLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD. Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD. * Until 100 AM EDT. * At 1203 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Mason Neck State Park, moving southeast at 15 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. * Locations impacted include. Quantico, Fort Washington, Gunston Hall, Mason Neck State Park, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Indian Head, Occoquan Bay, Fort Hunt, Leesylvania State Park, Smallwood State Park, National Harbor, and Alexandria.

The areas affected include. Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD. Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD. At 1143 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 nm west of Alexandria to near Quantico, moving east at 20 knots. Locations impacted include. Potomac Creek, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Leesylvania State Park, Smallwood State Park, National Harbor, Quantico, Fort Washington, Tidal Basin, Reagan National Airport, Gunston Hall, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Mason Neck State Park, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Indian Head, Occoquan Bay, Fort Hunt, and Popes Creek.
