The areas affected include. Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor. Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid Lake. At 1219 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located along a line extending from 9 nm west of Pleasant Prairie to near McHenry to 14 nm west of Elgin, moving east at 25 knots. Thunderstorms with lightning, downpours, and gusty winds will move into waters off of Lake County up to ten minutes after the passage of the gust front. Locations impacted include. Winthrop Harbor and Waukegan Harbor.
