At 244 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm near Hendry Correctional, or 17 miles east of Ave Maria, moving northeast at 5 mph. HAZARD. Winds in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Collier, southeastern Hendry and southwestern Palm Beach Counties.
