Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. A prolonged period of extreme temperatures will exacerbate impacts from the heat. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. High temperatures will decrease slightly on Monday, but a much longer duration heat wave begins on Tuesday with highs slowly increasing through next weekend.
